Sinziro

This is one of the most popular folktales in Ethiopia. It is a story of a family who longed to have a perceptive child. Their wish comes true and they had a son whom they named Sinziro. Sinziro grows up to be a smart boy who protects his brothers from the neighborhood’s mischievous boys and adults. Sinziro is also a young man whose kindness and thoughtfulness for others leads him to accomplish remarkable things.    As a parable, this story demonstrates that envy and jealousy lead to bad actions resulting in negative consequences. While kindness and positive thinking result in good deeds. It also demonstrates that parents may treat each child as a unique individual, but parents love all their children equally.   This book is written in English
